Haul from new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-bration

Hello everyone, how are you all doing??

Today I thought I would show you some of the things I have received as part of my haul from the New Mini Catalogue and the Sale-a-bration brochure.

Both of these catalogues run concurrently until the 29th February - so you still have plenty of time to get your hands on some Sale-a-bration goodies.

From the Mini Catalogue I bought myself the Trusty Tools Stamps and dies bundle, page number 56 item no 162723, this meant I was entitled to a Sale-a-Bration item so I picked the co-ordinating paper.

The next item I received was a Stamp set called Planted Paradise, this was free to all those that had attended the On-line event towards the end of last year, but still counted towards my totals.  So with the purchase of a few sets of gems, cardstock, inks and a stand alone die called Mini Alphabet dies (page 47 item number 162934) I was able to order myself two more sale-a-bration items.  As these items are appearing in Sale-a-bration they will not be appearing elsewhere at a later date, so it's a case of get them while you can!

To show all my goodies in detail I have recorded a second video.   Which you can watch by clicking Here, or by clicking the picture below.

I hope you like my video, and will subscribe to my channel.

Remember if you would like a catalogue please email me at nuttyhazecrafts@gmail.com, and I will be most delighted to pop one in the post to you.

Happy crafting!

Valentine Card Using Share a Milkshake

Hello everyone, how are you all doing?

This week I have taken another giant leap on my journey into the crafting world.  I have not only managed to record a video, but to also publish that video on my new You-Tube channel.

I would love you to check it out at  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClXkmJMrBKs09mwJ6u7Y8Cg.  It's not the worlds best video, but it's a huge start.  I would love for you to join me on this journey by leaving me a comment, a thumbs up, and subscribing.

Since I hit a high with my video I decided to get my craft on and try this weeks Creative Colour Challenges#124, as arranged by Victoria Littlewood of https://vickieloudesigns.blogspot.com

After seeing the colours chosen by Victoria there was a great deal of conversations with regard to it being very much ice-cream orientated.  So I decided there was going to be ice-cream involved somewhere!

To make my card I created a card base using a 10" x 7" piece of card; scored and folded it on the long side at 5".  I then added a piece of white - which I embossed using a crackle embossing folder (none Stampin' Up!), but it was the only folder I had which was 5 x 7.

I then created a panel, using the large die from Let's Go Fishing, from Flirty Flamingo card.  To give the panel a little more interest, I ink blended around the edges using Crumb Cake ink.

I created ice-cream cones using share a milkshake dies, lemon lolly, very vanilla, and crumb cake card stock.   To get the shine on the hearts I used an old technique of covering the cardstock with clear sticky tape.  I think you can really see the shine on the picture below.

I hope you all like my card, and will give it a go.

Creative Colour Challenges #123

Hello everyone, how are you all doing?

Today I want to share with you the card I made for last week's Creative Colour Challenges #123.  It was a lovely mix of three shades of blue; and since I only had one of the colours in ink, I thought I would use cardstock once again.

I have been seeing many patchwork type cards pop up on Facebook and Pintrest, so I decided to give this idea a go.  This is the card I came up with:
The card was my usual standard card base and then I just took strips of the different blues each 1cms wide (3/8ins), and placed them in a herringbone pattern on a piece of basic white 1/4 ins smaller than my cardbase.  Added a few die cuts and a sentiment and it was done.

I hope you all like my card, and will give it a go.

Brewed for you.

Hello everyone, how are you all doing?

Todays card is another masculine card.  I always seem to be making male orientated cards.  This time I have used another stamp and die set from the annual catalogue.  "Brewed for you" on page 92 is a set that gives plenty of scope for those drink related cards.

To make my card I also used a long retired pack of metallic and shimmer speciality paper.  But you could use any glittery paper or speciality paper.  I took three 6 x 6 inch sheets of dsp and cut them into 1 1/2" strips.  I then cut these strips diagonal across the middle.

Using all the pieces where the starburst was greater at the pointed end of the triangular slices.  I created a starburst effect on my card base.
To finish off my card I die cut a stitched circle, stamped the sentiment about two thirds of the way down in memento black.  I then adherred this to the card, and trimmed off the bottom.  Using the stamps, smoky slate and pecan pie ink I stamped two beer glasses.  I popped these onto the sentiment circle using dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Remember if you would like a catalogue please email me at nuttyhazecrafts@gmail.com, and I will be most delighted to pop one in the post to you.

Overlooked!

Hello everyone, how are you all doing?

Sunday has come around really quickly again, but while a lot of my Stampin' Up! sisters are sharing cards and projects made with their Sale-a-bration goodies - I thought I would show you two cards I made this week using often overlooked stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue.

The first of these is one I made using the "Lets Go Fishing" suite on page 78. The suite comes with designer series paper, stamp set and dies, and also an embossing folder. Unless you need male orientated cards, this suite can be very much overlooked.

I have had a lot of use out of this set, and am aware that I have previously shared this set with you.  But todays card is completely different from cards I have shown you before.  I made a "fishing tackle box" card, for my fishing mad nephew.  It has a pop-up element within the card.  I also made my first ever Facebook Reel, which you can see here:  https://www.facebook.com/reel/674654274841722

This quite clearly shows the pop-up element.

The other card I made was using Level Complete, 161563 page 93.  This stamp set is amazing if you have any gamers in the family.

Once again I have cased a card, but this time it is from the catalogue, I always find the catalogues are a source of inspiration.  The card was a very easy, and quick, card to case.  I even did a spot of stamping on the inside.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today.  Remember if you would like a catalogue please email me at nuttyhazecrafts@gmail.com, and I will be most delighted to pop one in the post to you.

Happy crafting!

Cards in the Mail

Hello everyone, how are you all doing??

Today I thought I would do a quick show and tell of all the lovely handmade cards and crafty gifts I received for Christmas.  Seems like it was a life time ago already!

I am a member of a Facebook group called the Joy of Sets - run by Fiona Whitehead of https://craftystamping.blogspot.com/ .  As part of this group we send regular Random Acts of Kindness all around the World.  So some of my Christmas cards this year were not just from friends and family.

This lovely card was made by the very talented  Diane of Dianes Creative Crafts over on Facebook.

Please do go and check out her cards, she does make some wonderful ones.

I also received a rather fabulous snowflake card from my team leader Heather Forgan of https://stampwithnellie.com -  it is well worth paying her blog a visit, as her cards and makes are really quite incredible..

I also received a few crafty gifts including a phone stand from my son, so now I will be able to record my first Facebook video.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the crafty cards and gifts I received.

If you would like a copy of the new mini catalogue and the Sale-a-bration brochure please email me at nuttyhazecrafts@gmail.com .

Last card of 2023

Hello everyone, how are you all doing??

Well I thought I would end 2023 showing you the last card I made of the year.  It was a Christmas card for my lovely brother and sister-in-law.

The card was cased from Sam Calcott from Mixed Up Craft, and is a Swinging Spanner Panel card.  It was so easy to make, yet so effective.

To make this card you will need a 7" x 5" card blank or a piece of card 10" x 7" scorded and folded on the long side at 5".  I used a pre made card blank in white.

The card blank needs to be cut on either of the 7" sides to the middle score line at 1 1/2" and 5 1/2" so that the middle part moves freely.  Then cut a strip off the middle piece at 1/2" from the bottom. This will allow the middle section to swing when the card is standing.

For the decoration you will need matts to cover the two front side pieces, each measuring 1 1/4" x 4 3/4" - I used glimmer card in Night of Navy for all my matt pieces, and 1 matt piece 3 3/4" x 4 1/4" for the middle section.  The dsp pieces all need to be a 1/4" smaller than the matts - I used Winter Meadow for mine.
I also decorated all of the inside with matts and dsp panels, and a white panel for my greeting message.
The spanner element was created by adding a piece of acetate, 1 1/2" x 6 7/8", to sit so that it runs flush along the bottom of the card front.  I then decorated the front of the card with fir trees in various shades of blue.

I hope you like my card, and will give it a try.  I will definitely be revisiting this design throughout the year.

Happy New Year!!
